Current Rarity Tiers
Staple
Tier 1 — Staple
Played at the vast majority of shows. Near-certainties at any concert.
Regular
Tier 2 — Regular
Frequent but not guaranteed. A solid rotation pick at most tours.
Uncommon
Tier 3 — Uncommon
Appears occasionally. A pleasant surprise when it shows up.
Rare
Tier 4 — Rare
Seldom played. Fans go years between hearings. A real moment.
Ultra Rare
Tier 5 — Ultra Rare
Played a handful of times ever. A once-in-a-decade event.

Model in Development

Work in Progress

The current tier assignments are based on a preliminary scoring model and should be considered temporary. We're actively developing a more rigorous rarity methodology that accounts for recency, era weighting, and statistical significance — not just raw play counts. The full scoring model and its methodology will be published when it's ready.

Tiers will shift as the model evolves. Songs currently classified in one tier may move up or down as we refine the math. That's the point — we'd rather get it right than get it early.

Mosquito

Red isn't just a logo — he's the spirit of every fan who's waited in line, hung from a stage truss to get a better view, and still knows every lyric to songs Pearl Jam hasn't played in a decade.

Clad in a red/black plaid flannel with a Pearl Jam Ten patch, over-ear headphones locked on, and worn-in black boots — Red lives for the live show. Whether chilling in his Eames chair deep in a bootleg or dangling from the stage truss mid-set, he's always where the music is.
